Last Christmas, Britt Nicole

So last Christmas might have been a little boring, stressful, annoying, or might have felt like a lack of spirit.

Well I have decided we need to change that... Lately I have learned that we need not focus on the past, but we need to pick up our bucket and ipod*, and start from where we are and move forward.

SO... To help I have my first (and likely last) giveaway.

In the comments below write an entry about your favorite Christmas Album... The one that makes you laugh, dance, or brings a certain memory. More than two sentences is appreciated!

I will then pull all entrants names in a santa-fied hat and the winner will win possibly 1 of 2, or both brand new freshly wrapped CDs. One of the CDs is brand new and came out in October, and the other is one of my favorite that I discovered after the mish (it also happens to be by one of my favorite artists ever)!

Important to note:

1) One Entry per person
2) I must know who you... (To Catch a predators/stalkers need not apply).
3) Contest closes Thursday December 18th @ 11:59 PM

Best of luck and drink some cocoa!

*Music makes a bad situation become better.

Okay...looks like I'm first. I would have to say that my favorite Christmas album is definitely "Let It Snow Baby...Let It Reindeer" by Relient K. Here's why:
A) It doesn't have any songs that I find annoying.
B) There aren't that many rock artists that create a Christmas album--let alone one that sounds really great.
C) It's full of high energy and playful fun!
D) While I like the alternative, it's a refreshing break from the vocal gymnastics and cheesy sounds that come from most of today's pop Christmas albums.

Ok I think my all time fav had to be the classic Carpenters Christmas.
1) Every song is great.
2) I can sing along because her voice is not too high and not too low.
3) really who doesnt love the carpenters:)
pick me! pick me!

I'll play! - I think it comes down to actual SONGS rather than a full album, but I do have an album memory - While @ School a huge group of us went ice skating. We piled into an old 70's Ford Van. It even had a working 8 track player! - Also the driver just happened to have the Jackson 5 Christmas Album (ON 8 Track) -- good tunes, good times. If you were requesting a single song, I'd put the classic Christmas song sung by Nat King Cole - LOVE tons of Christmas songs, and CAN'T STAND several others! :) You'll have to post yours when the contest ends!

Is there anything better than John Denver's Rocky Mountain Christmas! NO I say.
I remember my brother as a teenager (okay he's 50 now) learning to play the guitar and singing "A Baby Just Like You" which is a super sweet song. But nothing beats some good 'ol redneck music like "Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas". Now that is a classic!

Shoot! I'm so mad I'm not the first one on here!!! BLAST YOU AND YOUR WONDERFUL CREATIVITY BRE. SOR.!

I heart, heart, heart The Carpenter's Christmas...why, you ask? I shall tell you why! (And top Lisa's because she stole mine before I had the chance to even read the fine print regarding this contest! TAKE THAT LISA! jk...)

#1 - Karen Carpenter is a babe.
#2 - Karen Carpenter's brother had super amazing hair and an angelic tone to his voice.
#3 - Karen's voice is so smooth, it almost could be Josh Grobans, but it's not. It's Karen's.
#4 - I grew up listening to this album, and whenever I hear it now, I can sing every word just because Janeen Gaisford would play it from Halloween night till mid-February.
#5 - Karen died of anorexia and/or emphysema. Either way, let her life be celebrated by her glorious music!!

Heart you Brett!!

The Carolers record. it is so old that it is a record. kyle finally got it onto a cd so i could put it into my ipod for my kids to listen to. it is the craziest, most annoying christmas songs ever and as a child you absolutely LOVE THEM!!! we would make up christmas dance performances to the songs and make whoever was in the house sit down on the couch and watch us lipsink and dance to that music over and over. i also like amy grant, it reminds me of putting up the christmas tree. but, you gotta admit the metcalf kids making you watch them perform to the christmas music is pretty funny, eh????

As one of the fellow performers of the Metcalf Chorale, I have to say miming (it's the british term for lip-synching) to "The Day Before the Night Before Christmas" was the highlight of any Christmas. BUT, having said that, I do have a few other favorites (and since the industry is shying away from traditional albums in favor of singles, I am choosing singles):

Christina Aguilera - Xtina's Xmas

Whitney Houston - Joy to the
World, Little Drummer Boy

Britney Spears - My Only Wish (This Year)

Jump5 - Sleigh Ride, Joy to the World, Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Carpenters - Christmas Waltz (I love when Karen Carpenter comes in with perfect tonality "Frosted Window Panes")

Amy Grant - Emmanuel, God With Us

Destiny's Child - 8 Days of Christmas

Jessica Simpson - Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Mariah Carey - Joy to the World, All I Want for Christmas Is You [So So Def Remix]

That's enough for now, but I know there are more. THANKS! and Merry Christmas Y'all

I also all versions of "Sleigh Ride" (except for TLC's -has an odd vibe)

Elvis Christmas or Bing Crosby are my favorites. We would listen to these while putting up the Christmas tree.

My favorite album is the bath and body christmas album. I know I'm weird. I love cd's like this because it has all types of singers. It has rob thomas, ramones, jason mraz, pretenders, and so on. It has fast, slow, and definantly songs you can sing to. Adding to this list I would have to say the carpenters have to be included.
