Chasing Lights, The Saturdays

I recently saw (500) Days of Summer, and loved every minute of it. It's one of those movies that is filled with quirky honesty about love ( not to mention a good soundtrack). I highly recommend seeing it.... and if you need a reason see it because Zooey Deschanel is in it. I have yet to see one movie where I did not like her.

Postscript... This is not a scene from the movie, but the two leads got together and filmed a music video for the song. The video's story draws upon a bank teller and a bank robber.

A Night to Remember, High School Musical 3 Cast

I saw the hit movie of the year twice this weekend because A) I am a bit obsessed and B) It was really that good. The scenes were colorful, musical, laughable, and caused a few tears to flow, because we all remain in the high school mentality with some bit of our lives, whether it is wanting to be done and 5 years in the future, or wanting things to go slower and to remain the same.

I highly recommend this movie if you like musicals (Hairspray), pop culture, Disney-based paraphernalia, or wanting to a good G rated movie (they are hard to come by now).

To the crazy friends and family wildcats hat I saw the movie with, I say to you:


"High School Musical,
Who Says We Have To Let It Go?
It's The Best Part We've Ever Known, Step Into The Future!
We'll Hold On to High School Musical,
Lets Celebrate Where We Come From,
With Friends Who've been There All Along, Just Like, High School Musical!"

Feelings Show, Colbie Caillat

Right before I go to sleep I have been reading a "phone call" from America's Favorite night DJ. The book is full of listener's perspectives and stories about love.

Tonight I read a commentary from Delilah, and I have to agree, with her thoughts on love:

"I know I feel that way for my children and close family members, but as I grow in love, I realize there are other people God has brought into my life that I would also fight for, even die for... There are about a dozen people, outside of my children (family), to whom I would not hesitate to donate a major organ in order to save their lives, even if I still needed that organ. But the thought of giving up my life for a stranger, a con artist.... That is a type of love I will never be able to understand or emulate. I'm not that loving. I'm glad God is."

Can't Fight the Feeling, Celine Dion

I realize that for some reason's things in certain decades always seem to come back IE Clothes, music, TV shows, ideas, etc....

BUT is it just me or does it seem like the music world is rolling back to 1999?

Case in point, many of the artist's that were popular then, or fading out, are coming back with new material, or new directions. Especially at the MTV VMAs, it seemed like we were going back with Britney, Christina, and Pink. Only thing missing was a boyband... although we did see Linkin Park who released their first album in 2000.

All I can think is that I am enjoying the scenic ride back, and can't wait to see what happens.

P.S. A big congratulations to Ms. Britney Spears on her three awards... just a sign that we can all turn around and come back bigger than ever!

I Get It, Kate Voegel

Tonight in preparation with the end of this week, I watched Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants. It happens to be one of my favorites, and I think tonight I got a snippet of why:

There is so much raw emotion in the movie that I think that one can easily identified with the problems that arise and the feelings that come from them. Also I believe that the movie projects real image on issues that arise in life and their positive or negative consequences. IE teenage sex, divorce, friendship, terminal diseases, single parent homes, body issues, fitting into society, culture, and the main issue many of us face, self identity.

Also the movie is a microcosm of system based on friendship. We know what it's like to support our friends, and to laugh and cry together. Although the friends may leave temporarily, as soon as they get back together, the chemistry reacts, and things are just as they are.... friends forever.
